A catalog can optionally import the reviews your customers have written for your products. Aimée uses these to pull short, quotable fragments and star ratings into ad copy — review-backed creative tends to perform noticeably better than generic copy. See Selecting and approving reviews for how Aimée picks and you approve the actual quotes.
Review feeds are configured on the catalog's detail page, alongside the product feed.
Supported review sources#
| Source | Credentials needed | Setup guide |
|---|---|---|
| Trustpilot | Business Unit ID + API key | Connecting Trustpilot reviews |
| Bazaarvoice | API key (Displayable Content Export API) | Connecting Bazaarvoice reviews |
| TestFreaks | Client ID + API key | Connecting TestFreaks reviews |
| Yotpo | App key + Secret key | Connecting Yotpo reviews |
| Google Product Review XML feed | A URL to a feed in Google Product Review format — the same format used by Google Merchant Center / Google Shopping, commonly available as a plugin from most e-commerce platforms | Connecting a Google review XML feed |
For the API-based sources (Trustpilot, Bazaarvoice, TestFreaks, Yotpo), generate the credentials in that provider's own dashboard or developer settings, then paste them into the matching fields in Renable's Review feed dialog — the per-provider guides above show where each credential lives. For the XML feed, just paste the feed URL. You can also hand the credentials to Aimée on the catalog page — she validates the connection live before saving it.
Matching reviews to products#
Review feeds don't always use the same product identifiers as your product feed, so the Match reviews to products using field lets you choose how Renable should match an incoming review to the right product:
- Product ID, Item group ID, Brand+MPN, GTIN (default) — tries each of these identifiers in order until one matches. Good for most setups.
- A specific custom_label field (0–4) from your product feed — use this if your review provider's export lines up with one of your feed's custom label fields instead.
If reviews aren't showing up on the products you expect, a mismatched matching key between your product feed and your review provider's export is the most common cause.
Import cadence#
Reviews are checked and reprocessed on a recurring daily schedule. For Bazaarvoice and Trustpilot specifically, their own APIs can take up to a week to return a full backfill of historical reviews for all products — that's a limitation on their end, not a Renable delay, so don't be alarmed if review counts climb gradually after first connecting.
