You don't need design skills to get a good-looking ad. Start from a ready-made template in the gallery and swap in your own colors and images, or just describe the ad you want and let Aimée build and design it for you in Studio. Either way, you publish the template once and Renable produces an ad for every product automatically.
Two ways to a template you didn't have to design#
A template is the reusable design Renable fills with each product's title, price, and photos to make your ads. You have two ways to get one without opening a design tool:
- Start from the gallery — pick a finished template and make it yours by swapping colors, fonts, and images.
- Ask Aimée to build it — describe the ad in plain words and she designs it for you in Studio.
Both land you in Studio, Renable's ad template editor. You don't have to learn Studio to use either path — for the full tour when you're curious, see Studio overview.
Start from a template in the gallery#
The fastest path is to start from a template someone already designed. When you create a new template, Renable opens a gallery of ready-made designs to start from. Pick one and Renable makes your own copy to edit — the original is untouched, so you can freely restyle it: swap the fonts, colors, and images to match your brand without building anything from a blank canvas.
This is the store-owner shortcut: you're reskinning a proven layout, not designing one. The step-by-step — where the gallery lives and how to set your ad's size — is in Creating a template.
Or describe what you want and let Aimée design it#
If nothing in the gallery is quite right, you don't have to design from scratch — describe the ad and let Aimée build it. Tell her something like "make a square sale ad with my product photo, the price, and a bright background," and she can:
- Create the template and add the text, shapes, and image areas.
- Connect each part to your product data, so every product's own title, price, and photos fill in automatically across your whole catalog.
- Add simple rules — for example, show a "Sale" badge only on discounted products.
- Generate a background image or a short video clip with AI when you want a designed backdrop instead of a plain color.
She shows you the design as she works, and nothing goes live until you approve it. If you don't like a choice, just tell her what to change.
What Aimée can't do for you here#
Aimée is honest about her limits, so you're never left guessing:
- She can't upload your own files — a logo, a lifestyle photo, a font — or pull an image in from a web link. Add those yourself in Studio, then ask her to place and style them.
- She generates background imagery, not product photos. Your actual product photos come from your feed and fill in automatically; Aimée designs the backdrop and layout around them.
- She can't add audio to a video ad.
For more on the AI imagery she can create, see AI image and video generation.
Your ad won't go live until you publish#
This is the one thing to remember: a design you're editing sits in a draft and doesn't reach any ads until you Publish the template. That's your safety net — you (or Aimée) can experiment freely without touching campaigns that are already running. When you publish, channels using the template pick up the new design and refresh their feeds shortly after. See Studio overview for the full draft-and-publish model.
Publishing makes the design live. A template only starts producing ads once it's connected to a channel, which is what sends your products out to Meta, Google, or TikTok. See Working with channels.
FAQ#
Do I have to start from a blank canvas?
No — and you usually shouldn't. Start from a template in the gallery to get a finished design you only need to restyle, or ask Aimée to build one for you. A blank canvas is available if you want it, but neither path requires it.
Can Aimée use my own product photos and logo?
Your product photos come from your feed and fill in automatically for every product — you don't add them one by one. Aimée designs the layout and can generate a background around them. She can't upload your logo or other files for you, though, so add those in Studio yourself and then ask her to arrange them.
Can I make a video ad the same way?
Yes. The same gallery-or-Aimée approach works for video, and Aimée can even generate a short AI video clip for the background. See Generate a video ad from your products.
I published my template but I'm not seeing ads — why?
Publishing makes the design live, but a template only produces ads once it's connected to a channel that sends products to an ad network. Check that the template is attached to a channel — see Working with channels.
