Renable can import products by connecting live to your Google Merchant Center account, instead of pointing a catalog at a static feed URL. This keeps your catalog in sync with whatever's currently in Merchant Center, without you needing to manage a public feed URL at all.
If you'd rather not grant API access and already have a public feed set up in Merchant Center, you can use a feed URL instead — see Finding your feed in the Google Merchant Center.
Not the same as connecting Google Analytics#
This is easy to mix up because both use a "Continue with Google" button, but they're two unrelated connections:
- Google Merchant Center (this article) imports your products — it's a feed source, exactly like a feed URL or a Meta catalog.
- GA4 (Google Analytics) — a separate "Connect to GA4" button elsewhere on the catalog page — only supplies top-seller statistics used to prioritize which products get processed first when you're near your plan's product limit. It doesn't import any products itself.
Connecting one doesn't connect the other. See Working with catalogs for where the GA4 connection lives.
Connecting a catalog to Google Merchant Center#
- Open the catalog, go to Data sources, and open your product feed source.
- Choose Ad platform catalog as the source, then pick the Google tile.
- Click Continue with Google and log in with the Google account that has access to your Merchant Center account. Nothing is imported until you choose an account.
- Once authorized, pick your account from the Google Merchant Center account dropdown.
- Save, then Publish the catalog. Renable stores the connection and keeps importing products from that account going forward.
Troubleshooting#
"It doesn't look like we could find a Google Merchant Center account associated with your Google user. Perhaps try a different user?"
This means the Google account you authorized with doesn't have access to any Merchant Center account. Log in with a different Google account that has access, or add the account you used as a user in your Merchant Center account's settings first, then try again.
