Aimée in Meta Ads Manager

Open Aimée in a side panel next to Meta Ads Manager to ask about the campaigns, ad sets and ads you're looking at — what they're running, what Meta reports, and which Renable design is behind each ad.

Updated August 28, 2026

The Renable Options browser extension can open Aimée in a side panel beside Meta Ads Manager, so you can ask about what's on screen without switching to Renable. It's the same Aimée you use in the app, with the same conversations — she just knows which ad account, campaigns, ad sets and ads you have open.

She reads. She doesn't change anything in Meta. When something needs changing, she tells you what to change and where to click, and you make the change yourself.

Before you start#

  • Install Renable Options and sign in — see The Renable Options browser extension.
  • Connect the Meta ad account to Renable on the Integrations page (settings menu, top right → Integrations). Ad accounts are connected once per organization — see Integrations. Without a connection Aimée can't read the account's campaigns, ad sets, ads or reported numbers, and she'll say so and point you here.

Opening the panel#

The side panel opens only on Meta Ads Manager tabs. That's deliberate: it's a Meta-only drawer, not something that follows you around the web. On any other tab it isn't offered at all, and it won't appear in Chrome's own side-panel list.

Two ways to open it:

  • From the toolbar. Click the Renable Options icon in your browser toolbar while you're in Ads Manager and choose Open Aimée side panel. On any other tab the menu says "Aimée opens in Meta Ads Manager. Go there and open this menu again." instead.
  • From the design panel. When the Renable Options panel is showing on a catalog ad, its header has an Ask Aimée button. If your browser doesn't let that click open the side panel directly, the panel tells you to open Aimée from the Renable Options icon in your toolbar — same panel, one extra click.

While you work#

  • Switching tabs hides the panel and coming back brings it up again. It belongs to the Ads Manager tab, not to the window.
  • Reloading the page (F5) keeps the panel, including two reloads in quick succession, and including the reload that runs when you switch an ad's design. While Ads Manager is coming back the chat stays on screen with a Reloading Ads Manager… line under it — your conversation is not going anywhere.
  • Navigating the tab away from Ads Manager closes the panel — that is Chrome, not a setting. Browser Back does the same if it takes you off Ads Manager, and keeps the panel if it takes you to another Ads Manager page. Nothing can reopen a closed panel for you, so open it again from the toolbar icon.

Signing in#

The panel signs in the same way the design panel does: click Sign in to Renable, a Renable tab opens, sign in if you aren't already, and click Connect. The tab closes and the chat is ready. If you signed in somewhere else in the meantime, I've signed in — retry picks the session up without a second round trip.

What Aimée can see#

Two things.

The page address. Aimée knows which ad account you have open, which kind of screen you're on (campaigns, ad sets, ads, or an editor) and which campaigns, ad sets or ads are currently selected — all of that comes from the Ads Manager address in your browser's address bar.

The ad account's own data, read through Renable's server, using the connection your organization set up on the Integrations page. That's how she can tell you a campaign's objective, an ad set's budget and delivery, which ads are running, what Meta reported for a period, and — for a catalog ad — which Renable design it's actually running.

She also has everything she has everywhere else in Renable: your catalogs, channels, products, feed warnings and the help articles.

Because she starts from what you're looking at, you rarely have to say which account or campaign you mean. Select three ads and ask "what's wrong with these?" and those are the three she reads.

What she can tell you#

  • What's running in this account — campaigns with their objectives, budgets and what Meta reports as their delivery; ad sets with their optimisation goal, schedule, learning phase and where they can run; ads with their status and any review notes Meta left.
  • What one ad is actually running — for a catalog ad, which Renable design it shows and how the ad is pinned to it, which channel and product feed that design comes from, how fresh Meta's copy of that feed is, what else that channel offers, and anything that could override or alter the design before someone sees it.
  • What Meta measured for a campaign, ad set or ad over a period — spend, impressions, reach, clicks, click-through rate, cost per click, cost per thousand impressions, and where the account reports conversions at all, purchases, purchase value and return on ad spend.

Two honesty rules she keeps, and they're worth knowing so her answers read correctly:

  • Numbers are Meta's reported numbers for a named period. She'll say which period every time. They aren't a forecast, and they aren't proof that a change worked — she can't see what else moved.
  • An id she got no numbers for is not a zero. It either didn't deliver in that period or isn't in this ad account, and from here those look identical. Same for anything Meta simply didn't report: absent means unknown, never zero and never "off".

What she can't do#

Aimée has no way to change anything in Meta — not a budget, not a status, not an audience, not a creative. When you want a change, she'll say what to change and why, give you the click path in Ads Manager, say plainly that you make the change and she can't, and tell you what it's likely to cost: a creative or targeting edit can send the ad back through Meta's review, and a significant edit can restart the ad set's learning phase.

Switching an ad's design is the same kind of thing. She can explain which design an ad runs and which others the channel offers; she can't switch it. Switching happens in the Renable Options design panel on the ad itself — see The Renable Options browser extension — and the designs themselves are built and edited on the channel in Renable.

Changing things in Renable happens in Renable. If she needs to take you to a Renable page, it opens in a new browser tab rather than inside the panel, and the conversation stays where it is, still pointed at Ads Manager.

Your conversations#

The panel and the Aimée drawer in the Renable app share one set of conversations. A chat you start in Ads Manager is in your chat list back in the app, and either side can pick up a chat the other started. One thing to know: a chat open in both places at once doesn't update live in the other — the other side catches up when you reopen or switch to it.

The panel also remembers the conversation you were in, so closing it and opening it again puts you back in the chat you were having rather than in a blank one. Press New chat and it forgets that one, as you'd expect.

Chatting with Aimée uses Credits, exactly as it does in the app — see What consumes credits.

Troubleshooting#

  • "Not signed in". Click Sign in to Renable and complete the handoff in the Renable tab that opens. If you signed in elsewhere already, use I've signed in — retry.
  • "Renable no longer accepts this session." Your session is no longer usable here. Sign in again. If signing in doesn't help, your account may not have access to this — an administrator on your organization can check. (The panel deliberately doesn't say "expired": an access problem and an expiry look the same from inside the panel, and naming the wrong one would send you the wrong way.)
  • "No ad account in view". You're in Ads Manager but not inside an ad account yet — the account picker, or a page still loading. Open an ad account and Aimée picks up the campaigns, ad sets and ads you're looking at.
  • Aimée says she can't read the account. She'll say what happened and where to fix it. Several different causes read the same way from her side — the ad account isn't connected to Renable, the connection has stopped working, Meta is rate-limiting right now, Meta refused the read because the connection's permissions changed, or Renable couldn't confirm the rows belong to this account. The first four are fixed on the Integrations page, by connecting or reconnecting this Meta ad account. The last one is worth simply trying again shortly. Either way she'll stop rather than guess at what the account contains — and she can still help with everything on the Renable side.
  • Aimée says this ad's channel is in another of your organizations. An ad account can be connected to more than one Renable organization, and the chat runs in one of them at a time. When the channel feeding this ad's products belongs to another organization you're a member of, Aimée names that organization rather than telling you the ad isn't in Renable. Select the ad in Ads Manager, then close and reopen the panel: it comes back in the organization that owns the channel.
  • The panel disappeared. Check which tab you're on: it lives on the Ads Manager tab and hides on the others. If you navigated away or used Back, open it again from the Renable Options icon in your toolbar.
  • "Temporarily disabled". We've switched Renable Options off remotely while we fix something. It comes back on its own — nothing to reinstall.
